Modular counters can be disassembled and reassembled in a new position without damage. Pre-built counters can generally be relocated intact if they're not fixed to the floor, though glass display sections require care during the move. Custom-built counters with integrated lighting or refrigeration are typically designed for a fixed location and are harder to relocate without specialist help.

The most common issues are edge chipping on low-grade melamine, drawer slides that fail under daily use, and front panels that rack or bow when the frame isn't properly braced. Cheap counters also rarely include POS prep, so retrofitting cable management and terminal mounts adds cost quickly. For any permanent fit-out, mid-range timber laminate is a more reliable starting point than flat-pack melamine.

Dinya acrylic slatwall shelves carry up to 8 kg per linear metre under normal retail conditions. That's sufficient for most light product categories such as cosmetics, accessories, packaged food and stationery. For heavier products, slatwall shelving and brackets in steel are the better option.

Most acrylic slatwall accessories are designed for standard 25 mm groove pitch slatwall panels. If you're unsure about your existing slatwall system, check the groove spacing before ordering, or contact Dinya directly to confirm compatibility. You can also browse the slatwall accessories category for compatible fittings.

Yes. Plexiglass is a brand name for acrylic plastic (polymethyl methacrylate, or PMMA). The two terms refer to the same material. Dinya uses cast acrylic, which offers higher optical clarity and better impact resistance than the extruded variant.

Yes. Black electroplated aluminium slatwall extrusions typically run 1.5× to 3× the cost of mill finish silver, depending on the profile. The difference comes down to the electroplating process and the added scratch resistance you get with black. If budget is the priority, mill finish silver is solid value and performs well in most retail environments.

Yes, easily. A hacksaw with a fine-tooth blade works well, as does a mitre saw with an aluminium-rated blade. Cut 0–1mm shorter than the groove length so the extrusion seats cleanly without binding at the end.

Strictly speaking, no, but they make a big difference. Aluminium slatwall extrusions strengthen MDF panels by lining each groove with a rigid metal channel that spreads hook load across the panel rather than concentrating it on soft MDF. Without them, heavy loads wear the grooves down over time. That's why we fit them as standard on every Dinya panel.
